Milan, 15 Oct. (LaPresse) – Following investigations carried out by the NAS unit of the Carabinieri in Milan and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Lodi, including through audio and video surveillance, a court order imposing a precautionary disqualification measure has been enforced against three social and healthcare workers employed at a residential care home in the province of Milan. The order, issued by the investigating magistrate at the request of the Public Prosecutor, imposes on the suspects an absolute ban on practising as social and healthcare workers within any healthcare or social care facility, whether public or private, throughout the country. During the investigation, evidence emerged implicating a fourth care worker, who is under investigation for aggravated threats. The body of evidence gathered has made it possible to document serious and systematic acts of violence committed against four elderly residents entrusted to the care and supervision of the suspects, who are charged, on various counts, with the offences of ill-treatment and sexual violence.
