Campobasso, 15 Oct. (LaPresse) – The third of four digital searches ordered by the Larino Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of the investigation into the double ricin poisoning in Pietracatella began this morning at around 9.15 am. Officers from the Campobasso Mobile Squad and the Special Operations Unit (SCO) entered the Mario Pagano Classical High School in the Molise regional capital, the school attended until the end of the last academic year by Sara Di Vita and her sister Alice. A total of 63 computers are being examined. A few minutes before the investigators arrived, the school’s IT laboratory technician also entered the building. Operations are currently underway. Sara Di Vita, who was 15 years old, died at the end of last December alongside her mother, Antonella Di Ielsi, following ricin poisoning. The Larino Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case as a double murder, aggravated by the use of a poisonous substance, currently against persons unknown. Alice Di Vita, now 19, is currently attending university in a city in northern Italy. The IT investigations aim to identify any browsing history relevant to the inquiry and, where technically possible, to reconstruct the times and users involved. In the two days prior to the searches, the Agricultural Institute and the Scientific High School in Riccia were searched: in both cases, data from the central servers was retrieved without seizing individual computers. Tomorrow, the fourth and final search is scheduled to take place at the Humanities High School in Casacalenda, where Laura Di Vita – cousin of Gianni Di Vita, Sara’s father and Antonella’s husband – teaches.
