Naples, 21 Oct. (LaPresse) – Due to the significant disruption to urban and inter-urban transport caused by the lorry drivers’ strike and the resulting difficulty in obtaining fuel, the City of Naples has put in place extraordinary organisational measures to safeguard the continuity of administrative operations and the smooth running of institutional services. Under a directive issued by Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, the City Council – in a letter signed by Director-General Pasquale Granata – has called on the heads of the City Council and the municipal districts to facilitate the widest possible and temporary use of remote working for their staff. Consequently, managers will assess staff requests flexibly, giving particular priority to employees facing serious difficulties in reaching physical workplaces due to distance or a lack of public transport. Essential staffing levels will be maintained for institutional activities and public services that necessarily require on-site presence.
