EU, Mattarella: ‘Decision-making processes can no longer be postponed’

Rome, 27 Mar. (LaPresse) – “It is essential to reflect on the new international strategic context, which will naturally require consequent decision-making processes. This applies to evaluations in the context of the Atlantic Alliance and to decisions to be taken within the European Union that can no longer be postponed”. Thus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who, on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the foundation of the Italian Air Force, received Air Force General Luca Goretti, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, in the afternoon at the Quirinale, accompanied by a representation of members of the Air Force. ‘The rather chaotic competition between powers for world domination, the unexpected return of conventional conflict in Europe, the new hybrid threats, from cyber warfare to the strategic use of space, are altering the context of rules laboriously constructed by the international community after the Second World War’, added the Head of State.
