Flotilla: Gasparri, increasingly extremist demonstrations and the left refuses to distance itself

Rome, 6 October (LaPresse) – “At this weekend’s pro-Palestinian demonstrations, we saw banners praising 7 October, the massacre of Israeli civilians, and no one – neither Fratoianni, nor Conte, nor Schlein – had the courage to ask for them to be taken down. We had dozens of officers injured, and that is unacceptable.” This was stated by Maurizio Gasparri, leader of Forza Italia in the Senate, on “Ping Pong” on Rai Radio1, regarding the pro-Palestinian demonstrations over the weekend and the episodes of tension in Rome. “There are also reformists in the PD who are censured in Parliament for being too moderate. Ending the siege of Gaza is a priority, but we must condemn Hamas and the violence of the demonstrations. Hamas’s goal is to wipe out Israel, and the left must distance itself from those who cheer for that destruction,” he concluded.
