Centre-left, De Luca: ‘Perceived as foreign to society’

Florence, 11 October (LaPresse) – “One of the limitations of the left in Italy, and the centre-left, is the lack of an emotional connection with Italy. There are centre-left politicians, without generalising, who present themselves as foreign bodies to Italian society, a mixture of presumption, arrogance and duplicity, ready to break the rules and accuse others when they break them. The centre-left presents itself in this way, almost as a foreign body to national society. This is a major problem that goes beyond politics, beyond the programmatic gaps that also exist.” This was stated by the president of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, on the sidelines of the Festa dell’Ottimismo 2025 (Festival of Optimism 2025) organised by the daily newspaper Il Foglio, currently underway in Florence.
