EU, Mattarella: ‘I hope Moldova and North Macedonia will join quickly, the time is ripe’

Rome, 11 October (LaPresse) – “I hope that North Macedonia and Moldova will join the European Union quickly. Italy fully agrees with this view and our government is on the same page. I cannot stress enough that the time is ripe for this accession.” These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, when he met with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, at the Palazzo Ducale, on the sidelines of the Venice Commission meeting. The Head of State then congratulated President Sandu on the recent election results.
