Explosion in Verona, Meloni: “Deep sorrow, thoughts to those who serve Italy”

Milan, Oct. 14 (LaPresse) – “With deep sorrow I learn of the tragic death of three Carabinieri and the injury of another thirteen among members of the Carabinieri, Fire Brigade, and Police, following an explosion during an eviction operation in the Verona area. My condolences and those of the Government go to the families of the victims. I wanted to personally express my closeness to the General Commander of the Carabinieri in a phone call, extending it to all Carabinieri,” said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. “A thought also goes to all the police forces and the fire brigade, who every day work with dedication and courage in the service of the State,” she added. “To the wounded I wish a speedy recovery, and thanks go to the medical staff and all those who intervened promptly and professionally. I follow with participation and sorrow the developments of this dramatic event, which calls to mind the value and daily sacrifice of those who serve Italy and its citizens,” she concluded.
