Padua, Oct 17 (LaPresse) – The coffins of the carabinieri killed in the explosion in Castel d’Azzano, in the province of Verona — Valerio Daprà, Davide Bernardello, and Marco Piffari — arrived to prolonged applause from the crowd gathered in the square in front of the Basilica of Santa Giustina, in Prato della Valle, Padua, where the State funerals will soon take place. A guard of honour received the three coffins, draped in the Italian flag. Among those entering the abbey, in addition to the highest State authorities — President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and the Presidents of the Senate and Chamber, Ignazio La Russa and Lorenzo Fontana — were also some of the injured, including carabiniere Domenico Gabriele Martella.
