EU: Mattarella, Europe is our wisely chosen destiny

The destiny we have wisely chosen.’ These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, at the Quirinale during the ceremony to award the insignia of Knight of the Order of Merit for Labour to the Knights of Labour appointed on 2 June. ‘Young people, who feel themselves to be citizens of Europe as well as of their own country, know this well. Erasmus, together with free movement and the Schengen rules, has been an extraordinary engine of encounter, knowledge, growth and formidable dynamism for many,’ he added.
