Naples, Oct. 27 (LaPresse) – “The right’s program is: insults, insults, and more insults. We, on the other hand, are talking about real issues — I talk about them, and so does the entire coalition. I have nothing to say in response to this person.” These were the words of Roberto Fico, center-left candidate for the presidency of the Campania Region, replying to reporters who asked for a comment on Marco Nonno, Brothers of Italy candidate for the Campania Regional Council, who called him “an idiot imposed by Rome.” On the sidelines of the presentation of the M5S candidates, together with the leader of the movement Giuseppe Conte, Fico explained: “I am not responding to these insults because we must respond only on the issues. If we focus on the issues and work on the many matters we need to address for the good of the people of Campania, then citizens will also go out to vote. Voter turnout above 50% is a goal that the people of Campania — and we, as politicians — must set for ourselves.”
