Budget law, Meloni: ‘Italy is back on track, aiming to consolidate its progress’

Rome, 29 October (LaPresse) – “The main indicators today paint a picture of a solid Italy, which is back on track and able to cope with difficulties better than other European countries. The credit for this success obviously goes not to the government, but to businesses and their workers. We have simply done our part, which is to keep the accounts in order, focus available resources on a few major priorities and create an environment that is as favourable as possible to those who generate wealth and employment.” This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in a message to the Federmanager assembly. “The 2026 budget law follows in the footsteps of previous ones and provides for concrete measures and interventions to support employment and entrepreneurs,” the Prime Minister emphasised. I am thinking of the decision to guarantee continuity of the tax credit for the Single Special Economic Zone (ZES) for the three-year period 2026-2028, the sterilisation of the plastic and sugar taxes, the refinancing of the Nuova Sabatini law and the reintroduction of super and hyper-amortisation to support technological innovation in businesses.” ‘These measures,’ said Meloni, ‘outline a strategy that aims to consolidate the path of growth and development that Italy has resumed in recent years.’ ‘There is still a lot of work to be done, we are aware of that, but we know that we are not alone in this challenge,’ she concluded.
