Defence, Mattarella: ‘Serious crises, no delays allowed in adapting to changes’

Rome, 5 November (LaPresse) – ‘Unfortunately, war has not left the world: there are numerous areas where, between conflicts and fragile truces, worrying crises are taking place and being recorded. Ukraine and the Middle East are only the closest to us among these serious crises in the world.’ These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in his greeting to the students of military training institutes whom he met before the ceremony for the awarding of military decorations. ‘You are future commanders and you are asked at this moment, you are asked every day, to devote yourselves to acquiring the necessary cultural and professional skills that will enable you to interpret the reality that will confront you in your commitments in the near future,’ added the Head of State. . ‘It is a matter of understanding, interpreting and facing the reality of a constantly evolving world, within which the Armed Forces are also called upon to evolve, as has always been the case. But in this season of ours, in this time of ours, with a pace that does not allow for delays or slowness in adapting to change.’
