Rome, November 7 (LaPresse) – The issue of addictions “is an extremely complex reality that requires concrete, courageous, and forward-looking responses. To develop them, however, I must say that humility is also needed. The humility to admit that we do not have all the answers in this potentially dramatic scenario, which moves faster than us, faster than our imagination, and consequently the humility to engage and seek help from those who can contribute to finding answers for those daily immersed in that reality.” This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the first day of the VII National Conference on Addictions, held at the ‘Auditorium della Tecnica’ conference center in Rome. “The government, however,” the Prime Minister added, “must first provide the tools that allow people to operate at their best. So we started with the most tangible issue, namely available resources. From 2024 to 2025, financial investment has doubled, reaching almost 165 million euros, a figure never previously available. These are clearly decisive resources to resolve long-standing issues that had to be addressed.”
