Gaza, Mattarella: ‘PNA is a key interlocutor for the international community’

Rome, 7 November (LaPresse) – ‘The Palestinian National Authority is an absolutely fundamental interlocutor for Italy and for the international community, particularly at this intense time.’ These were the words of Italian President Sergio Mattarella as he welcomed Palestinian President Abu Mazen to the Quirinale Palace. ‘We must proceed with great determination in providing humanitarian aid and rebuilding Gaza, and in working towards the creation of two states in the region,’ added the head of state, who also stressed that the arrival of humanitarian aid, the reconstruction of Gaza and the creation of two states in the Middle East are “objectives” that ‘require the disarmament of Hamas and the strong involvement of Arab countries.’
