Rome, 7 Nov. (LaPresse) – In today’s meeting at Palazzo Chigi between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, ‘in reiterating the need to work towards a lasting political solution based on the two-state perspective, it was confirmed that the Italian government, also on the basis of the priorities indicated by the Palestinian Authority, is working on a package of humanitarian and reconstruction aid to be presented at the Conference on Gaza that Egypt intends to convene’. This is according to a statement from Palazzo Chigi, which adds: Prime Minister Meloni ‘reiterated the need to consolidate the ceasefire and begin the stabilisation and reconstruction of Gaza, proceeding rapidly with the full implementation of President Donald Trump’s Peace Plan, including through the disarmament of Hamas, which cannot have any role in the future of the Palestinian people.’
