Government: Meloni surpasses 5 million followers on Instagram, over 16 million on social media

Rome, 9 November (LaPresse) – ‘5 million times thank you.’ This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni wrote on Instagram, celebrating with a story the 5 million followers she has reached on the platform. Since taking office at Palazzo Chigi, the leader of Fratelli d’Italia’s presence on social media has gradually developed and branched out. At the moment, there are nine official channels that the Prime Minister uses to communicate online and via apps. The most followed is Instagram, while she has 3.8 million followers on Facebook. On X, the platform owned by her friend Elon Musk, she has 3 million followers, slightly fewer than on TikTok (2.9 million). Adding up the data from the different channels entrusted with Meloni’s social media communication, she has over 16 million followers. And who knows, perhaps the Prime Minister will soon decide to join Truth, the social media platform of US President Donald Trump that “encourages open, free and honest global dialogue, without discrimination based on political ideology”.
