Privacy, Boccia: ‘The Privacy Authority’s board needs to be completely overhauled’

Rome, 12 November (LaPresse) – ‘We need a political and moral reset of the Privacy Guarantor’s board. In light of what has emerged from the Report investigations, there are clear reasons why the members of the board should resign. What has emerged is, to say the least, a lax management of this body, and this is what we have highlighted in our urgent question.’ This was stated by the president of the PD senators, Francesco Boccia, in an interview with Repubblica. According to Boccia, ‘an independent authority is accountable to no one but the law. When that autonomy bends to the convenience of the government or becomes silent on clear cases of violation of rights and personal rights, the problem is not the origin, but the loss of institutional credibility, as is happening now.’
