Milan, 11 December (LaPresse) – “I am absolutely in favour of the constant renewal of Forza Italia. That is what we are doing, we are also bringing young people to the fore, I am thinking of the national secretary for young people, the newly elected members in the last regional elections, young people aged 24-25, I am thinking of our deputy secretaries who are working, the congresses we have held and will hold. This is a way of expanding. At least 12-13 MPs have joined FI in recent years, so it is a party that is renewing itself and expanding. All advice is useful and valuable, but I am absolutely convinced of the need to keep up with the times, as we did with the Manifesto of Freedom, presented this summer, always defending the liberal thinking of Berlusconi, whose name is inseparable from Forza Italia.” This was the response of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Secretary of Forza Italia, Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of the Italy-India Business Forum in Mumbai, when asked about Pier Silvio Berlusconi’s comments. ‘We will move forward. All advice is valuable and useful, I listen to it and I am in perfect agreement on the need for renewal and looking to the future. We are working precisely to constantly renew ourselves in our arguments, in our political action, in the actualisation of the liberal thinking that was Berlusconi’s thinking, and to always bring out a young and new ruling class,” he added.
FI, Tajani: ‘P.S. Berlusconi? There is renewal, the party is moving forward and looking to the future.’
