Sydney, Mattarella: “Strong condemnation of vile acts of terrorism and antisemitism”

Rome, Dec. 14 (LaPresse) – “I was shocked to learn the tragic news regarding the shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney. In these moments of deep sadness, on behalf of the Italian Republic, I wish to express my heartfelt condolences and fullest solidarity to the families of the victims. The thoughts of all Italians, and my personal thoughts, are also with the injured, to whom I wish a swift and full recovery,” said President Sergio Mattarella in a message sent to the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia. “Whatever the causes and responsibilities behind this cowardly attack, I reiterate my strongest condemnation of the vile acts of terrorism, the repugnant manifestations and forms of antisemitism, and every expression of fanatical violence fueled by ethnic or religious hatred,” added the Head of State.
