A year of serenity, of work, of confidence in the future.” This is what Rome’s mayor Roberto Gualtieri wrote on social media. “Rome is an extraordinary city, strong, capable of facing challenges and renewing itself without losing its deep bond with history,” the post reads. “We will continue to take care of it together, with commitment and responsibility, seeking to be close to everyone and, in particular, to those who are most vulnerable. Happy New Year to Rome, to those who live it and to those who love it.”
