Rome, Jan. 6 (LaPresse) – The symbol ‘Futuro nazionale’ (National Future) registered by General Roberto Vannacci as the logo of his nascent party may not be usable. The alarm was raised by Guido Giacometti, president of the association ‘Mondo al contrario’ (World in Reverse), who, in a note to the general’s ‘team’, asked them to avoid using the symbol in public and social communications, as anticipated by some newspapers and confirmed by party members close to Vannacci. The same symbol had already been registered in 2011 by Riccardo Mercante, former regional councilor for the M5S in Abruzzo, as his wife, who currently holds the rights to it, told Il Fatto Quotidiano. However, this circumstance does not seem to be discouraging the general’s loyal followers. “The fact that the name and symbol of Futuro Nazionale cannot be used because they are registered is a joke. What is happening is demagoguery, a way to create confusion and ‘break the balls’. Have you read Giacometti’s statement? It is addressed exclusively to the members of the association ‘Il mondo al contrario’ (The world upside down) and has no erga omnes value. There is no intention to change either the name or the symbol, and there will be no need to do so,” Massimiliano Simoni, regional councilor elected with the Lega in Tuscany and who will join Vannacci’s new party, told LaPresse.
