Naples transplant, Schillaci-Fico meeting: ‘Joint commitment to clarify the situation’

Naples, 17 February (LaPresse) – Meeting between Health Minister Orazio Schillaci and Campania Region President Roberto Fico today in Rome. According to a statement from the Campania Region, the meeting had been scheduled in recent weeks to discuss health issues. Schillaci and Fico, the statement emphasises, “paid close attention to what happened at the Monaldi Hospital in Naples. In expressing their heartfelt and sincere sympathy and solidarity with the family of the young patient, they emphasised the strong synergy and institutional collaboration, so that full clarity can be provided on what happened.‘ To this end, the statement notes, ’the inspection and investigative powers of both the Ministry and the Region have been activated in recent days, in order to take the necessary measures according to their respective competences. Today, the report prepared by the regional offices at the instigation of President Fico will also be sent to the Ministry.”
