EU: Vannacci officially joins the ENS, the far-right group of the AfD

Brussels, 24 February (LaPresse) – ‘It is a great honour for us to welcome you to our group and we look forward to an excellent collaboration.’ These were the words of the president of the Europe of Sovereign Nations (ESN) group, Germany’s René Aust (AfD), at a press conference at the European Parliament, welcoming MEP Roberto Vannacci, who left the League (and the related Patriots for Europe group) to found his own movement, Futuro Nazionale, to the group. ‘We would only have welcomed MEPs who are faithful to their principles, there is no doubt about that in this case. In the coming weeks and months, this will remain the situation in order to do important work in the European Parliament and at home. We discussed common points and differences, and the result is that we have very few differences, but we can still find common ground on economic and migration policy,’ he added.
