Iran, Meloni: “Concerned by crisis of international law, world governed by chaos”

Rome, Mar. 5 (LaPresse) – The escalation of the conflict in the Middle East “raises concerns on several fronts. In general, I am concerned about the increasingly evident crisis of international law and multilateral organizations, which is creating a world increasingly governed by chaos.” This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said while speaking on Rtl 102.5.

“It was unfortunately predictable,” the Prime Minister explained, “after the total anomaly of a member of the United Nations Security Council,” namely Russia, “which invaded a neighbor and clearly made the situation increasingly unstable. I am concerned about a conflict that, particularly with Iran’s reckless reaction, is essentially bombing all countries, including those that had worked toward an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. And clearly, this entails the risk of an escalation that could have completely unpredictable consequences. I am obviously concerned about the possible repercussions for Italy. We are working on all these fronts.”
