Rome, 25 May (LaPresse) – ‘Yesterday’s events are an affront to sport. Sport should unite people; there can be rivalry between Torino and Juventus fans, but that is another matter. I hope that the young accountant who was injured makes a full recovery as soon as possible. These are things that should not happen; we have seen so many deaths, and it is unbelievable that such violent clashes should occur over a football match.’ This was the comment made by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani to LaPresse – on the sidelines of an event organised at the Treccani Italian Encyclopaedia Institute in Rome – regarding the clashes that took place before the Turin derby. Tajani also expressed his solidarity with the police. “Four officers were injured,” he noted.
