Rome, 4 June (LaPresse) – “If Pozzolo has done wrong – as it appears he has, given that his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit – he will be punished. The law applies equally to everyone, including Pozzolo. Will he remain in the party? Absolutely; I never leave anyone behind. I have never left behind anyone who has stood by me on a thousand battlefields. And I leave no one behind in my party unless there is wilful misconduct, gross negligence or indifference.” Roberto Vannacci made these remarks on the sidelines of the Futuro Nazionale event ‘My homeland is an idea’ in Rome, regarding FN MP Emanuele Pozzolo, who two days ago veered off the road in his car with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit. ‘Is it a problem? It is a problem for Mr Pozzolo, who will be penalised. Drunk? Exceeding the 0.5 limit is a technical limit laid down by the Highway Code. Being drunk is different; it means being incapable of understanding and acting with intent,’ he added.
