Milan, 7 June (LaPresse) -. “I haven’t received any documents or any investigation papers. We’ll see. Then we’ll have some fun.” This was the response of Francesco Silvestro, a Forza Italia senator and current chair of the Bicameral Committee on Regional Affairs and Autonomy, when interviewed by La Repubblica regarding allegations of sexual harassment made by a businesswoman who had been received in his office. The President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, has learnt from the press of certain circumstances relating to Senator Francesco Silvestro. This is what emerges from sources within the Senate Presidency. Pursuant to the combined provisions of Article 67 of the Rules of Procedure and Articles 2 and 8 of the Code of Conduct, he has asked the Senatorial Quaestors to carry out the necessary investigations – the same sources emphasise – for subsequent assessments falling within the remit of the Presidential Council. To this end, the President and the Quaestors will meet next Tuesday.
