Milan, 16 June (LaPresse) – ‘When the data contradict ideology. The introduction of a new category of crime – femicide – particularly when murder and its aggravating circumstances already exist, does not lead to a reduction in violence by men against women.’ This was posted on Facebook by the leader of Futuro Nazionale, Roberto Vannacci, who returns to the controversy that erupted following his remarks last Sunday at the party’s constituent assembly in Rome. Accompanying the post, the general published two tables entitled “The crime of femicide around the world”: the first lists “countries where the specific offence of femicide exists”, the second those where it does not.
