Rome, July 3 (LaPresse) – “Giorgia Meloni said something that is incredibly obvious: ‘I hope that, sooner or later, there will be a President of the Republic who is not from the left.’ Does that really sound like an attack on the Constitution? Is it an attack on the Constitution to hope that the President of the Republic is not associated with one political side rather than another? That is not an attack on the Constitution.” This was stated by Ignazio La Russa in an interview at the Pantelleria – Mediterraneo d’Autore event. Speaking about himself, La Russa added: “To tell the truth—and those who know me know I mean it—I wouldn’t like to become President of the Republic because I am happy serving as President of the Senate and I have my own role.”
