Rome, 9 July (LaPresse) – “I took Ukraine’s side right from the start, but we’re talking about another issue here”, namely that “to justify rearmament, it has been claimed that the Russian threat now extends beyond the Russia-Ukraine conflict”. So said the leader of the M5S, Giuseppe Conte, on ‘In Onda’ on La7. “We were told that the problem was not the Russian-speaking populations of the Donbas but Putin’s plan to invade the whole of Europe. And people started saying ‘we must rearm’, which for Italy means 500 billion by 2025.” For Conte, “politics must return; diplomacy must return”.
