Rome, 14 July (LaPresse) – “This is a vote against the arrogance of a female leader who, in order to defend her own power, was prepared to crush that of other women.” So said PD Secretary Elly Schlein, speaking in the Chamber following the rejection of the centre-right’s amendment on preferential votes. “Let us give our colleagues time to realise that they have failed and that it is time to go home so that we can finally give this country a government capable of solving the problems of the millions of Italians whom you have ignored for four years, whilst you were preoccupied solely with our power-sharing deals which, today, right under the government’s nose, have fallen apart. Acknowledge your failure and go home,” she concluded.
