Milan, 15 July (LaPresse) – “It is surreal that Giorgia Meloni and the government are carrying on as if nothing had happened yesterday, when a government crisis began yesterday, because this was not just any amendment. It was an amendment strongly backed by the Prime Minister, tabled by her party, on which the government in the Chamber even deferred to the views of the rapporteurs.” This was stated by the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, on ‘In Onda’ on La7. “It was a genuine vote of no confidence in Giorgia Meloni, who merely said on social media that some reflection is needed,” added Schlein, emphasising that “they should put this electoral law on hold and they should stop what they’re doing and go home, allowing voters to have their say”.
