Milan, 29 July (LaPresse) – “I always find it difficult, especially after the Minetti case, to answer questions based on press agency reports that are more or less accurate. The Minetti case should have taught us to exercise greater caution in trusting news stories that subsequently turned out to be blatantly false and fabricated.” So said the Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio, during Question Time in the Chamber of Deputies, responding to a question regarding press reports concerning the alleged influence of former Under-Secretary Andrea Delmastro Delle Vedove on the current running of the Ministry of Justice. “ “As regards continuity within the ministry’s structure, we all know that Undersecretary Delmastro resigned for personal reasons and has been replaced by Senator Balboni in the same post and with the same responsibilities. This continuity in the ministry’s management is ensured by the Minister himself and by those responsible for policy direction, namely the Prime Minister’s Office,” added the Minister of Justice.
