Almasri case: Nordio sends ICC arrest documents to the General Prosecutor’s Office

Rome, July 30 (LaPresse) – Justice Minister Carlo Nordio sent the Rome General Prosecutor’s Office yesterday evening the International Criminal Court file requesting cooperation for the arrest of Libyan General Osama Almasri. The move follows the Constitutional Court ruling which, on July 23, established “that the Justice Minister must immediately forward to the Prosecutor General at the Rome Court of Appeal the requests for cooperation from the International Criminal Court, unless he communicates to the same Court of Appeal a reasoned declaration of not proceeding with such requests due to the need to protect overriding constitutional principles.”
