And there are many indications that make me think so. Let me mention at least three. First, in the days beforehand, many fake news stories circulated online claiming that the border would be open that day, or at least unchecked, and that anyone arriving in Ceuta would be granted legal status. The second indication: Morocco is Netanyahu’s main ally in that part of the world. They exchange favours, military cooperation, and Morocco has recently received a great deal of money from the United States. The third indication: the Moroccan police clearly turned a blind eye, if not both eyes, because otherwise it would have been impossible not to notice 60,000 people crossing a border, however short, within just a few hours.” Nicola Fratoianni of the Green and Left Alliance (AVS) said this in a video posted on Instagram. “And what happened immediately afterwards? The propaganda machine started rolling,” the Green-Left leader continued. “Elon Musk posted a video that, using artificial intelligence, compared what was happening at that moment to a zombie invasion. The right across Europe – the AfD Nazis, the Vox and Le Pen fascists, and Giorgia Meloni – all cried ‘invasion’.”
