Turin, 31 Aug. (LaPresse) – “Report is a programme that attracts record viewing figures and is much loved by the public. And when Corsini, the director of the current affairs programme, dismantles and distorts it – a decision which, incidentally, has sparked an outcry from the editorial team and led to threats from correspondents to walk out – he is literally breaching the service contract. The service contract states that Rai protects and defends investigative journalism. Today, it is doing exactly the opposite: stifling it, thanks to Telemeloni’s edict.” So said Barbara Floridia, the former chair of the Rai Supervisory Commission who has since resigned, in an interview with *La Repubblica* in which she denied having given CEO Rossi the go-ahead on the appointment of Giulia Presutti as one of the presenters. “Absolutely false. I never spoke about it, never gave my approval,” she added. “I categorically deny this and have asked whoever wrote it to issue a correction and apologise.”
