Rome, 4 Sept. (LaPresse) – “It is not true that this Government is not losing support; in fact, it has so disappointed voters’ expectations that it has created a vacuum of disillusionment on its right, which Vannacci has filled. Vannacci and the National Front are not in the Government, nor are they part of the majority; this political space has arisen precisely because of the Government’s failures. If you go to the supermarkets and speak to people, the level of dissatisfaction is enormous.” So said M5S leader Giuseppe Conte during an appearance on ‘L’aria che tira’ on La7. ‘Longevity is a fact, but it is a temporary one. If that longevity is not accompanied by solutions to citizens’ problems, the protection of national interests, or reforms… four years of inaction are not a point in its favour but an aggravating factor. The longest-serving government bears the greatest responsibility for having done nothing,’ adds the former prime minister.
