We unanimously voted for measures that strengthened repression, but we know that they are not enough unless prevention is increased, with greater support for anti-violence centres that can also help us with specific training for law enforcement and public administration personnel, and with education on respect and relationships, which should be mandatory at all levels of schooling. We will also continue to insist on adopting a law of civilization that makes it clear that without consent, it is always violence. We know that it is essential that all of us continue together in this difficult struggle to eradicate gender-based violence, which is a structural scourge. We are here, and we will do our part.”
