Do we want to broaden our support base? Do we want to extend our project to you socialists and to new forces such as that of Alessandro Onorato? We must reach out to everyone; those already in the centre have already demonstrated their capacity for expansion. Today, if the aim is to restrict rather than expand, the M5S will not be part of it.” This was stated by the president of the M5S, Giuseppe Conte, at the ‘Festa Avanti ’26’ in Campobasso. “If we want to reach out to new forces that can help us draw support from those who usually abstain, we must ensure that you are part of this. Since this threshold is illiberal, anti-democratic and unconstitutional, the M5S stands ready to assist you in collecting signatures. The Movement is willing to play its part in lowering the number of signatures required,” he added. “‘Campo largo’ is a matter of breadth; I prefer to call it the progressive camp. I will always fight for the quality of our political offering. Although we are a young movement, we have undergone a serious internal process, we have taken a clear stand and our ideas are crystal clear,” emphasised Conte.
