If that doesn’t happen, the best solution is primaries. Perhaps we’ve set such a bad example that people imagine them as divisive. But in fact, they’re the most democratic way. Let’s hold the primaries on Sunday and on Monday let’s have a huge public celebration. If, on the other hand, they turn out to be divisive, we deserve to lose.” So said Dario Franceschini, speaking at the Festa dell’Unità in Reggio Emilia.
