Milan, 11 Sept. (LaPresse) – “Denise” Cosco “was the same age as her mother, Lea Garofalo, when she was killed. She was a courageous woman; she had been so even as a young girl when she stood by her mother, who had found the strength to report her own family. She remained so after her mother’s murder, which took place in Milan in 2009, when she testified against her father. She had continued to be so in recent years as a witness for the prosecution. Her death is a defeat for society as a whole, and should make us reflect on the commitment that institutions must demonstrate every day in the fight against the mafia and in support of those who have the strength to speak out.” So said the Central Executive Committee of the National Magistrates’ Association.
