Pontida (Bergamo), 19 September (LaPresse) – A mass was held to commemorate Umberto Bossi on what would have been his 85th birthday. It was organised at Pontida Abbey, a stone’s throw from the large field where the Northern League rally is due to take place tomorrow, by former MP Giuseppe Leoni, who, together with Bossi, signed the Carroccio’s founding charter. The service took place in the same location where, on 22 March, the funeral was held for the ‘Senatùr’, who passed away on 19 March. Around a hundred party members attended the service, alongside the Minister for Regional Affairs, Roberto Calderoli, the secretary of the Lega Lombarda, Massimiliano Romeo, and the Carroccio MEP Susanna Ceccardi.
