Turin, Sept. 22 (LaPresse) — “Where it is not possible to place a student in a local school, we have decided to allocate 14 million euros once the program is fully operational, specifically to strengthen and personalize Italian language instruction for those students who will inevitably find themselves in more complex situations.” This was stated by Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara in an interview with Tg1 regarding the decree setting the cap on the number of foreign students in a classroom. “The criteria we have decided to follow will be objective in nature—for example, having completed two years of preschool in Italy or three years of school in Italy with success,” he concluded. “It is clear that even a child from an EU country who does not know our language, or knows it only slightly, falls within the 30% quota.”
