(LaPresse) – “Today, terrible conflicts are causing bloodshed in many parts of the world, and in some places people are even returning to the practice of blessing weapons and placing armies under religious banners: Francis teaches us that there is no greater sin than killing other people in the name of God.” So said the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, speaking at the ceremony marking the National Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, on the 800th anniversary of his death.
