Rome, 10 Oct. (LaPresse) – “I’m ready for the primaries, a bold move that’s good for politics.” So said Mario Calabresi in an interview with *Corriere della Sera*, regarding the upcoming elections in Milan. “I’m waiting for the coalition to clarify the path forward and the timetable. It seems to me that the picture is becoming clearer. I’m up for it,” continued Calabresi, who, on the subject of the primaries, emphasised: “We need to get the people of Milan involved again to overcome fatigue and disillusionment. We need a positive impetus and broad popular support to shape the city’s future: that is the real challenge.” On his decision to stand for mayor, Calabresi emphasises: “Milan today needs to be listened to, looked after and, above all, needs clear decisions. There is the Milan that is thriving and the Milan that is really struggling, but a city is, first and foremost, the community of those who live there. We must have the sensitivity to speak to both worlds and the tools to mend rifts and bridge divides.”
