Milan, 16 Oct. (LaPresse) – “The future of our European project is a highly topical issue, as demonstrated by the current international situation, which is characterised by profound shifts in the geopolitical balance and the re-emergence of conflicts and tensions on Europe’s borders. The European Union faces extraordinary challenges affecting its security, its prosperity and its ability to act with authority on the international stage, with significant consequences for the lives of our citizens. No country on the continent – not a single one – can envisage a future separate from that of the others: it would be an escape from reality and, even more than an illusion, an act of self-harm.” So said the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, speaking in Brdo, Slovenia, at the 21st meeting of the Heads of State of the Arraiolos Group.
