F1, Hamilton: ‘Ferrari? I don't feel any pressure, the most exciting period of my life’

Turin, 13 Mar. (LaPresse) – “I'm really very lucky to have had this fantastic career in F1. Starting with McLaren in 2007 was an epic feeling, then starting with a new team in Mercedes was incredibly special”. These are the words of Lewis Hamilton at the press conference that opened the Melbourne GP, the first round of the 2025 World Championship and his first as a Maranello driver. ‘These feelings remind me of my first year. How many times have I walked up and down the paddock, looking at the red garage, and now I'm actually here… It's something really beautiful’, he adds. And regarding his debut on the Red he comments: ’I'm not worried because the pressure I've put on myself has always been ten times higher than any other – says the 7 times British champion – This team has not weighed anything on me. I have expectations of myself, I know what I can bring and offer, I am aware of what it will take to succeed. It's just a matter of putting my head down and working hard.’ “You have to start the season and find a good rhythm,” he explained, ’I'm still getting to know the new car, which is very different from the ones I've driven in my career.’ And again: ‘The power of the Ferrari is something new, a different vibe. There's also a different way of working on the part of the Scuderia. You look at things from a different perspective and that makes it stimulating. It's definitely the most exciting period of my life, so I'm just enjoying it’.
