Turin, Mar 20 (LaPresse) – Marcell Jacobs' outdoor season begins with the 200 metres and the relay. ‘On Saturday I will be in Miami for a training competition – announced the Italian on his Instagram page – I can't wait to get back on the track because it's what I love most. I will return to run the 200 metres after almost seven years, an opportunity to test new sensations and refine the work done in recent months. It will also be a chance to run the 4×100 relay with my Jacksonville teammates, a first step in a year that promises to be full of competition. It will be a lot of fun. The last time in the 200 for Jacobs had been in May 2018, in Campi Bisenzio, with a personal best of 20"61. The final destination for the Fiamme Oro sprinter is clearly the World Championships in Tokyo on 13-21 September, on the track of dreams, the one that saw him win the legendary Olympic 100-metre gold medal on 1 August 2021 and the title with the relay five days later, a facility to which he will also return for the Continental Tour meeting on 18 May. As for the Diamond League, on the other hand, the Chinese dates of Xiamen on 26 April and Keqiao on 3 May have already been confirmed: the latter, again in the 100, with Botswana's Letsile Tebogo, Jamaica's Kishane Thompson and the USA's Christian Coleman.
