Turin, April 15 (LaPresse) – Remco Evenepoel is back to racing. The Soudal Quick-Step cyclist will line up for the Brabantse Pijl, a warm-up race ahead of the Ardennes Classics, scheduled for Friday, April 18. The two-time Paris 2024 Olympic champion will make his season debut after completing a high-altitude training camp in Sierra Nevada.
"I’m counting the days until I can race again with my teammates for the first time in over six months. It's been a long time since I last rode with the team, and I’m so happy to be close to returning," said the Belgian champion. "I’ve worked hard over the past few months, had a solid training camp in Spain, and I feel good and motivated. I won’t race with specific goals, because the most important thing will be to get back into race rhythm after all this time." Evenepoel has been out since early December after fracturing his shoulder blade, right hand, and a rib in a training crash.
